Downstairs we have a record room. It held about 26,000 pieces of vinyl and around 2,000 cd's. I often go to the record room to rearrange, regroup and get inspiration. Today the record room was sold in it's entirety. The records will be used in a play in Washington D.C. that is what I am told. We all knew the day would come when recordings would only be digital and if you grew up on tapes, cd's or vinyl, the day is completely and officially here. You will probably never buy a piece of audio you can hold in your hand ever again. Digitally....we know how this is going. All things digital cannot be completely governed, enforced or protected. Audio is now Free. Music is now free. I'll say it again, music...is now...free.

Shots from the shoot..."Label Girl"
Here Are two screen shots from the shoot. I haven't blogged in a while because I was focused 100% on this. It's my first solo main feature video and there were so many details to figure out. Shout out to Kurch (producer) and Adam Buncher(Director) ( http://www.adambuncher.com/ ) for taking this as seriously as I did. The work will speak for itself. As artists, we cannot control people's opinion or view of what we create. We can however be fully satisfied with our work. When that happens, it's time to hit the market....and that's what we're about to do homies and homettes...I guess it's all part of becoming dreams..
Shout out to my aeresouls DJ and Graf crew for helping me make that sight become a reality...Love you cats..

The 50th LAW....
I read the first chapter of this book online and was hooked from the jump. I don't know if the book is speaking to me so clearly because I'm ready to take destiny in my own hands or not, but It's a necessary read for anyone who has goals, period. 50 is able to take lessons from co-author Robert Greene's original book, The 48 Laws of Power and put them in terms today's youth can clearly understand and put into practice. The book itself is similar in look and feel to a religious text. The design is genius. I was a huge fan of "The secret". The 50th Law takes the mysticism out of the goal achieving process and gives you simple steps and lessons to follow. I believe this book will help me get to where I'm going, and I believe it can help anyone who has a vision he or she wants to share with the world. This book is harsh at times, it's realness will scare most but as the book teaches us, fear is the most common obstacle between you and your goals. Fear nothing, Know that you are on your own in regards to achieving your dreams and read this book if you are ready to make those dreams become reality. I want to thank 50 Cent and Robert Greene for seeing the lack of imformation in mainstream media and doing something about it. I understand everything business people do to make a dollar is self fullfilling to a large degree, but when it helps give others the tools to clear a path to where they want to go, it's deserving of recognition. Again, Thank you both for allowing us this information. to all my blog readers and subscribers, READ THIS BOOK. You will thank me.

Persistence.....can I get an Amen?
People, persistence is key!
It is in most cases, the main ingredient in success of any kind. In business, creation and love. The word Luck is typically associated with circumstances that came to fruition due to persistence. Follow through with your phone calls, meetings and to do lists. Particularly in music and film if you are not following through and being persistent, you will not see your goal as quickly as you would like.
I don't want to put myself out there but I've personally dealt with more rejection then most. When I met Wyclef(all respect due), the first thing he told me was every label in the industry turned down the Fugees. Jay-z couldn't get touched with a ten foot pole at one point and WILL.I.AM was on his 2nd or 3rd record deal by the time we ever heard of The black Eyed Peas.
You can quit and come back. You can procrastinate at times. You can even spite your passion or love out of anger, frustration or insecurity at times, but if you truly want something, you must be persistent. Be persistent, be persistent and be persistent.

Convenience....the end.
Make doing what you love convenient.
They say necessity is the mother of invention. I say convenience is the key to success. The most convenient choice may not always be the one with the most attributes or amenities. My gym is terrible, but it's right down the street so I go. What needs to become convenient in your life?

Artist tools....ONE STOP SHOPPING NOW AVAILABLE
I found a great online resource for artists the other day. It's called Music Industry Online. They have everything you will need to market yourself and do business like a professional.
Every artist needs to master their craft. This takes a life time. Once your ability and finished materials are ready to be displayed to the public(if you choose to be a commercial artist), you need the right tools to get you where you want to be.
I've struggled at times with the proper tools. I used to call secretary's at labels, front desk people, anyone I could get on the phone and lie through my teeth to get A&R directories and who's looking lists. That's a whole different skill set lol.
Todays artists are fortunate enough to have all the tools they will need to succeed at their finger tips. The site I find most helpful is, http://www.musicindustryonline.com/ . I do not normally plug sites but I believe this can help and save a ton of time. They have lists for everything. Contracts. Licensing info. All in one place. Def check it out. You'll find everything you need. They'll even help you get a record deal through their online submission form.
